We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-State Sales and Use Tax Manager with a focus on the industrial and/or manufacturing sector. This role involves consulting in all aspects of sales and use tax compliance and planning across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Use Tax Compliance
Data Manipulation and Reconciliation
Statistical Sampling
Audit Defense: Serve as the primary point of contact for sales and use tax audits conducted by state taxing authorities within the industrial and/or manufacturing sector. Coordinate audit responses, provide documentation and support, and effectively defend the company's tax positions.
Research and Analysis: Stay updated on changes to sales and use tax laws, regulations, and rulings within the industrial and/or manufacturing sector. Conduct research and analysis to assess the impact of changes on the company's operations and advise management accordingly.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the sales and use tax function for industrial and/or manufacturing operations. Implement changes to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce risk.
